Privacy Policy for Scublr

Last updated: March 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Scublr handles information in the current version of the app and on the Scublr website.

Overview

Scublr is an iPhone dive log focused on dive history, maps, trip summaries, and shareable recap cards. The current version of Scublr stores dive-log information locally on the device and does not currently provide a Scublr-operated user account system or cloud synchronization service.

Information Scublr May Handle

  • Dive-log information, including dates, times, depths, gas information, dive site details, trip summaries, and related dive metrics.
  • Imported dive files, such as FIT files, when those files are selected in the app or shared into the app from another source.
  • Location information contained in imported dive files or entered into dive records, including latitude and longitude coordinates.
  • Device location, if permission is granted, to support features such as showing nearby dive sites.
  • Generated recap images and share cards when those are created, saved to the photo library, or shared through another app.

How Information Is Used

Scublr uses information handled by the app to:

  • Import and organize dive logs.
  • Display dives on maps and in trip summaries.
  • Generate recap cards and other shareable visuals.
  • Save exported images to the device photo library when requested.
  • Share selected images or recap content through other apps when requested.

Storage and Retention

Dive-log data and imported source files are stored locally on the device. Temporary image files can also be written locally when recap cards or share assets are created.

Data stored locally remains on the device until it is removed from the app, removed from the device, or the app is uninstalled.

Photos, Sharing, and Other Apps

When a recap image or other exported image is saved, Scublr may request access to the photo library and save that image to the device.

When content is shared from Scublr to Instagram or another app, the selected content is passed to that third-party service. Any processing performed after that handoff is governed by the third party's own privacy policy.

Maps and Third-Party Services

Scublr uses Apple Maps-related functionality to display maps in the app. Map and device-level platform services may process information according to Apple's own privacy practices.

The app also includes optional sharing flows that may interact with third-party apps or platforms, such as Instagram or other destinations selected during sharing.

Data Sharing

Scublr does not sell personal information. Scublr does not currently operate a Scublr-managed user account system or cloud sync service for dive-log data. Information is primarily handled on-device unless content is saved to the photo library or shared to another app or service.

Children's Privacy

Scublr is not directed to children under 13, and the app is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the app, website, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
